HOUSE OF VICTORY FREDERICKSBURG

WHAT WE BELIEVE

He is the creator of All existence. God is the eternal Spirit that is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three are each a manifestation of one God.

He is God in flesh. He is the Son of God.  He is the example of righteousness , love, and holiness given to earth for all to follow. He is the unblemished sacrifice given for everyone, that died on the cross, was buried, but arose three days later.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the gift given to the believers of God that resides within us. Holy Spirit is a helper, teacher, and guide that helps us live righteously before God.

We believe we are saved by Grace! By believing in our heart and confessing God's love towards us through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, we receive salvation and are made in right standing with God.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God written by men and given to us as a guide for understanding and Godly living. We believe all that it contains helps foster a Christian lifestyle.

It is a public expression of an inward conviction of a new life in Christ. We baptize by totally submerging a believer into water as a symbol of the old life being done away with and a new life being resurrected.

OUR HISTORY

The Mission…

Pastors Dwayne & Markeeta Robinson launched the HOUSE OF VICTORY Fredericksburg Church in September 2017. Their vision is to build a Christ-Centered community of faith that demonstrates the Love of God, the Forgiveness of God, the Power of God and the Victory of God. In moving forward with the God given vision, their mission is to equip, encourage and empower all people to live a victorious life by walking in the VICTORY of Christ!

The Vision…

While serving in the community of Culpeper, Virginia at the Mount Olive Baptist Church, God began showing Pastor Dwayne the need for a ministry in Fredericksburg. God confirmed the need when visitors from the Fredericksburg area came to the Culpeper church and loved the worship experience but hated the travel time. They would say, “We wish you guys were closer, so we could be a part of your ministry; because, we need it.” There would be times when Pastor Dwayne would be in the Fredericksburg area and meet people who expressed the need of a local ministry. He would refer them to Bible based local churches.  However, some individuals could not seem to find the right fit. He would hear God say, “They are your assignment.”  Pastor Markeeta would also encounter people in the Fredericksburg area.  They would say to her, “I wish you guys were in this area; I would be a part of your ministry.” After a couple of years and much prayer, they moved forward with the Vision for Victory.

How it All Began…

On August 28, 2017, the Pastors held an interest meeting for The House of Victory. The Pastors were transparent regarding their heart for people and the things they wanted to do in the Fredericksburg area.  They made it quite clear that they desire to help those who are hurting and those who seem to have lost hope. They met with seven people.  Amidst the small group, they shared the vision for ministry that God had given them. The attendees were extremely excited and after much prayer, they expressed their commitment to the vision.  Those seven supporters became founding members, and the team was ready to run with the vision.  They were ready to do the work necessary to get the ministry moving forward!

Real history began to be made for the House of Victory Fredericksburg on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Holding their first of several soft launch services, HOV began worshipping at the Dorothy Hart Community Center in Downtown Fredericksburg. This first service was not highly marketed.  Word of mouth and a Facebook post spread knowledge of the service a few days prior. The service was held in the smallest room of the Dorothy Hart Community Center. The turnout required additional seating due to the number of people in attendance. Pastor Dwayne preached a powerful message entitled “You Can Still Win.” It was during this first service that people gave their lives to Christ and joined The House of Victory!

After holding just two services in the center’s smallest room, HOV had to move to the next largest room.  However, moving to the next largest room presented the same space challenges.  After two more services, management said the church’s attendance exceeded the fire code requirements.  The building management strongly recommended that HOV immediately relocate services to the Center’s Auditorium (the largest space in the Dorothy Hart Community Center). This was a huge blessing in disguise because it prepared the ministry to receive those that were on the way. It also gave the ministry mental preparation for their new worship location that was also on the way.

On Sunday, November 19, 2017, God favored House of Victory yet again and allowed them to make the James Monroe High School their new place of worship.

The Church Body…

The demographics of House of Victory Fredericksburg vary from millennials to baby boomers. The House of Victory believes there is room for everyone. The vision is to create a spiritual atmosphere where all groups can be edified and empowered. Opportunities will be fostered to meet the needs of men through the Mighty Men of Victory Men’s Ministry. This ministry will allow men to come together and be ministered to as well as minister to other men. The women will also have personal ministry opportunities to be strengthened.  It will be strategic regarding issues and answers that are germane to women through the Women of Victory women’s ministry. The same opportunities will be available for the Youth, or the next-now generation. These opportunities will come through the Youth of Victory and Children of Victory ministries.

Service to the Community…

Holding true to their mission to reach those that are hurting and void of hope in the community of Fredericksburg, the House of Victory took their ministry into the community. On October 8, 2017, HOV held their worship service at the Thurman Brisben Center, a center dedicated to providing emergency housing for homeless, men, women, and children. Not only did they take with them the gospel, they were intentional about giving hope and encouragement to the residents as well as donations of various toiletries and daily living needs.

The Celebration…

The church and community were excited about the soft launch services for HOV but seem to have had an even greater excitement about the Grand Opening! The kick-off weekend was Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 3:00 pm with a celebration and dedication service. There was celebration through song and Pastor Bobby D. Hicks of the New Home Baptist Church, Landover, MD, brought forth the preached word.  He helped dedicate the Pastors and the ministry to The Lord.

The Sunday celebration was during during the normal worship hour of 8:30 a.m. at the church’s former site (James Monroe High School).  The ministry welcomed all new members who completed their partnership classes as well as extended to them the right-hand of fellowship. The service also included its first Holy Communion. The celebration weekend ended with the House of Victory rendering service to the community at 6:00 p.m. They prepared and served dinner to approximately 150 displaced people at the Travel Lodge Hotel on Jefferson Davis Highway.

The Pastors…

Pastors Dwayne and Markeeta Robinson have their own personal testimonies of how God has blessed them on their life’s journey. God intersected their lives and brought them together to do a great work for the Kingdom. The two of them met while in seminary. As graduates of The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University, both have Master of Divinity degrees. Pastor Dwayne and Reverend Markeeta are both gifted preachers and teachers. In their own unique way, God has anointed them to deliver His Word with power and conviction.
